INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARING AMMO BOX
- Place your Ammo Box on its side with opening facing you, latch on your
left and hinge on your right.
- Place TOP OF BOX PATTERN provided on top of box. Mark box
for holes to be drilled. Indent marks with a sharp pick to make it easier to drill.
Using correct bit size drill holes in box. For larger holes it is better to
drill small holes first and graduate hole in size. After you have drilled holes; knock the
burs off inside box with a file making sure all holes are smooth inside of box. If you
plan on preparing your box for Solar Panel hook-up, follow instructions in your SOLAR
PANEL KIT.
- If you have purchased a Photocell Module Kit. Follow the instructions for
BOTTOM OF BOX PATTERN FOR PHOTOCELL MODULE. For all other kits go to step 5.
- After you have drilled all holes in your box and filed off all burs,
clean the box. If you plan on painting do so at this time. Let dry.
- Before mounting your box to your barrel, install DCM motor. Remove the
10-32" nuts and #10 washer. Place the Close-cell sponge gasket over the shaft and
studs of motor. Insert the motor through the drilled holes in box. Replace the washer and
nuts and tighten nuts, making sure you have tightened then and motor shaft is not in a
bind.
- Place slinger on shaft of motor. Setscrew should line up with flat side
of shaft. Tighten Setscrew with a 5/64" Hex L wrench.
- In order to get correct measurements for attaching box to your barrel.
You will have to temporarily attach your studs to Ammo Box. To do so place a 5/16"
nut on each of the mounting studs at the approximate distance you will want the unit to be
from the feed-out shoot. Insert the studs through the 5/16" holes in your box, reach
inside and hand tighten a nut on each stud.
- Place box centered under feed-out shoot on your barrel, (¾" is
adequate distance for the spinner to be from the feed out shoot. To do this, adjust the
out of box nuts you placed on the studs. Mark holes on each of the mounting brackets (to
do this you will need a short pencil). Remove the box and drill the holes.
Remove the mounting brackets from the Ammo Box, (leaving the distance
nut on the stud) and attach them to your barrel with tapping screws. If you have
purchased a Photocell Module Kit. Make sure you have cleaned and covered your Photocell
hole with the lamination squares in and out side the box.
- Attach the Ammo box to the mounting studs by placing a 5/16" X 1
¼" fender washer over the mounting stud holes on the top of the box, attach the box
to the studs. Reach inside the box and in the following order, attach a mounting stud
gasket, ½" X 2" Plate washer, 5/16" X 1 ¼" fender washer and
5/16" nut on each stud. Tighten the nuts securely on top and inside of box.
Photocell Kit purchasers use VELCRO MARKING INSTRUCTIONS FOR PHOTOCELL MODULES.
- All other Kits go to next step.
- To attach the module in the Ammo Box. Clean the area with the alcohol
swab, remove the protected cover and attach the module on the left side (latch side) side
leaving a distance of about ½" from the side and back. MAKE SURE THE CONTROL
UNITS ARE FACING THE FRONT OF BOX AND SCREW TERMINAL BOARD IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE NEXT TO
MOTOR.
- Follow the HOOK-UP AND OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS THAT COMES WITH KIT.
