HOOK-UP AND OPERATIONS FOR DELUXE 12-VOLT QUARTZ TIMER
DESCRIPTION:
This is a 12-volt timer. Powered by a 12-volt battery. The timer can be configured as a 24-hour 7-day timer capable of feeding at 30-minute intervals or 1 time per day. The motor is a DCM 12-volt motor. Uses 4.5 amps maximum at start dropping to 3 running. Operates at 3300 RPM. When first hooked-up to a battery allow the clock and circuit to charge it self for about a 30 seconds to a minuet.
OUT PUT:
A solid state integrated circuit proven in the field for over 30 years.
SETTING TIME:
Rotate the dial by turning the minute hand clockwise until the time of day on the outer dial is aligned with the triangle maker on the inner dial (two oclock position). Example for a 24-hour program dial 10:30AM is aligned with the triangle on the inner dial. The hour and the minute dial will show exactly 10:30AM.
PROGRAMMING:
Pushing the captive tripper to the outer ring position can set the timer. You may set tripper for once a day or every 30-minutes. When the tripper is pushed to the inside, the switch is in the off position.
CONNECTION:
The motor unit is ready to connect to a 12-volt gel cell rechargeable battery. Hook the Red " POS." wire to the "POS." Red battery post and the Black NEG to the Black NEG. battery post. Always make sure you have connected the positive red terminal to the positive red battery post and the negative black terminal to the negative black battery post. RED TO RED AND BLACK TO BLACK. Caution: Incorrect connection can result in circuit damage. This is not covered in warranty. While it can be repaired if is a temporary hook-up and corrected right a way. If it is left unchanged will burn up your board and then circuit board will have to be repaired or replaced. Make sure you always use keep your battery well charged. A weak battery can cause your motor to cycle (cut off and on or run all the time) this not only wastes your corn, but it can eventually burn up your circuit. This is not covered in warranty.
OPERATIONS:
The PRESS TO TEST switch operates the motor. As a safety feature, test switch will not function until clock face has passed trippers. This takes about 15 minutes. It takes 21 seconds for capacitor to recharge. PRESS TO TEST can operate every 21 seconds at other times.
The variable resistor marked RUN TIME on controller will allow the "ON" time to range from approximately one to twenty seconds. Turning it counter clockwise will produce more run time.
The amount of feed-out is controlled by the run time setting on controller and distance of spinner from feed shoot. The operator can adjust the two settings to vary the amount of feed dispersed. A distance of about 5/8" is adequate.
Note: Your feeder is packed with the side straps removed. To replace them, remove the wing nut and washer and replace them with the washer and wing nut.
Your feeder is ready for solar panel hook up with ¼" ring or spade terminals. Solar panel should be a 12-volt solar panel. Loosen the knobs and connect the terminals and retighten. Again making sure you have connected the POS. lead wire to the POS. binding post, and the NEG lead wire to the black binding post.
We recommend the battery be placed on it's side, with battery posts on the right side of feeder. (door side).
Good Hunting!!!
